“The Strength of patience hangs on our capacity to believe that God is up to something good for us in all our delays and detours.” John Piper
This quote has resounded in my mind for several weeks now, the words are simple but yet powerful.
I am a firm believer and know that our steps are ordered and the Lord orchastrates each and every moment of our lives.
However at times, I still find myself wanting to ask the Lord why? why the wait? why the unknown? and his response is simply.. Do you trust me? Do you know that my ways are higher than yours? Do you know that in the waiting I will strengthen your heart! Sometimes in lifes moments of waiting we learn some of the most valuable lessons that will carry us through the darkest of hours.
It is so easy for us to be consumed by the struggles that we sometimes face, it is so easy to loose sight of the good in all the delays and detours.
God does not want us to loose sight of the good, he wants us to simply Find JOY in the Journey, even while we are waiting!
There are many moments in my life where I have waited, each waiting was different, but one thing remained the same…
God was Faithful.
In the waiting..
I held steadfast to the promises the Lord had given me.
My dreams were given new meaning.
Divine appointments were unfolding.
Opportunites were surrounding me.
My heart was strengthend.
For the past several weeks and months waiting has been a key word in my mind, as I have read scriptures during devotion time and prayed I continually heard the word wait.. “wait on me, and trust me.” I believe when you are walking out your calling, at times the enemy will do everything in his might to destroy what the Lord has created you to do for his kingdom. I have been challenged greatly in the area of my calling. The other night I decided to move foward with a decision my husband and I had talked and prayed about.
The very next day I received a phone call, a phone call that was so ironic but yet such a divine moment that God had truly orchastrated for my life. A phone call that was a simple conformation but yet encouragement to me that through my waiting the Lord heard my heart and in his timing his will for my life would unfold.
One of the greatest lessons I have learned, is that in my obedience to the Lord, he honors that and his blessings are greater. In Luke 1:45 it says ” Blessed is she who believes that the lord would fullfill his promises to her.”
I am thankful for the waiting, for in the waiting I have found joy unspeakable, a calm in the midst of the storm and a faithful father that shows his unconditional love.
“Wait on the Lord, Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, Wait I say on the Lord.”
